The Chattanooga School of Preaching and Biblical Studies began classes in January 2000 under the name Southeast School of Biblical studies. It was decided to change the name of the school to its current designation effective March 2004 to give a more specific geographical identity.

Three terms or class sessions are conducted each year with three classes offered on Monday evenings at Green's Lake Road church building. Extension classes are also offered at the Gateway church of Christ in Etowah, Tennessee. These classes normally meet on Tuesday evenings. Fall and winter terms have thirteen week of study. The Spring/Summer term is eight weeks of study.

More than one hundred and fifty students have enrolled in the school for one or more classes over the past six years. This represents interest from many congregations, and even some who are not members of the church of Christ.

Classes are for both men and women. Elders, deacons, preachers, class teachers and others have benefited from their studies. Upon completion of thirty-six hours of credit, the student will receive his/her diploma. Most students take classes for credit, other just come to increase their Bible knowledge. Courses are offered covering every book in the Bible plus many other valuable related studies.
